Loaner Gear Policy

Effective Date: January 16, 2026

Purpose

Westview Youth Lacrosse (WYL) maintains a limited inventory of loaner equipment to support families who need temporary access to required gear for participation.

Loaner gear is intended to reduce barriers to entry and support player safety. Availability is limited and not guaranteed.

1. Eligibility & Availability

  • Loaner gear is available to registered WYL players on a first-come, inventory-based basis.

  • Submission of a request does not guarantee availability.

  • A program representative will contact families after submission to confirm availability and next steps.

  • WYL reserves the right to prioritize distribution based on inventory, team needs, and overall program capacity.

2. Equipment Covered

Loaner gear may include, based on availability:

  • Helmet (NOCSAE certified)

  • Shoulder pads (NOCSAE ND200 certified)

  • Arm/elbow pads

  • Gloves

WYL does not provide:

  • Mouthguards

  • Athletic cups

  • Cleats

  • Sticks (unless otherwise specified)

Families are responsible for ensuring all required equipment meets current safety standards.

3. Condition & Care

Borrowers agree to:

  • Use equipment for WYL activities only.

  • Maintain equipment in safe and reasonable condition.

  • Not modify or alter equipment in any way.

  • Report damage immediately.

Normal wear is expected. Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or alteration may require replacement at the borrower’s expense.

4. Return of Equipment

  • Loaner gear must be returned at the end of the season or upon request by WYL.

  • Equipment must be returned in clean condition.

  • WYL may conduct reasonable follow-up to recover unreturned equipment.

Failure to return loaner gear after reasonable follow-up may require the equipment to be replaced at the borrower’s expense and must be resolved before additional loaner gear can be checked out.

5. Lost or Damaged Equipment

Borrowers are responsible for the replacement cost of equipment that is:

  • Lost

  • Stolen

  • Damaged beyond normal wear

Replacement costs will reflect fair market value for comparable equipment.

6. Policy Modifications

WYL reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. The most current version will be posted on the WYL website.
